Vinyl flooring installation in North York

Vinyl flooring installation in North York from Flooring Installers North York replaces carpet, laminate or worn tile with waterproof vinyl plank, in condos, kitchens and basements.

We level the low spots after the old floor comes out, because vinyl shows every dip in the floor underneath, and that step is part of the price, not an extra.

What vinyl flooring costs in North York

Vinyl plank runs about $5 to $11 per sq ft supplied and installed, plus HST. The spread comes from the product you pick and how much prep the floor needs.

Our recent condo vinyl jobs, with carpet removal and levelling, came in around $8 to $10 per sq ft. A two-bedroom job of about 220 sq ft, with carpet and underpad out, new baseboard and shoe moulding, was $1,750.

Why vinyl suits North York condos

Vinyl plank is waterproof, so a leak from a dishwasher or the unit above doesn't swell it the way it swells laminate. It's thin enough to keep door clearances in a condo, and with the right underlay it can meet the sound rules most condo boards set. For houses, it's the floor we suggest for basements and kitchens.

Questions people ask

Can vinyl go straight onto a concrete condo slab?
Yes, once the slab is level. Most condo boards also require an acoustic underlay, and we use one that meets your building's rating.
Can vinyl go over my old tile?
Sometimes, if the tile is flat and solid with no loose pieces. We check it at the measure and tell you whether it can stay or has to come up.
How long does a vinyl job take?
Our recent condo jobs took about two days for 525 sq ft and three and a half days for 700 sq ft, including carpet removal and levelling.
Do I need to move my furniture?
No. We can move it for you; it is priced as its own line on the quote.
